Youth get ready for Haiti 2013

10/8/2012

The Rev. Ralph Denizard is the pastor in charge of Delmas 33 Methodist Church in Haiti. He recently reported some good news saying, "I am pleased to inform you that the work at Delmas 33 is completed!"  Volunteers in Mission from West Michigan have worked alongside Haitians to finish construction.

"I acknowledge," notes the pastor, "the important role played by you and the teams you have led in the past, bringing your talents and your money, using your time so the work can be done."

The most recent group to pick up shovels and make mortar at Delmas was the Conference Council on Youth Ministries. They've been back only three months and now the Conference Council on Youth Ministries is planning its second trip to Haiti.

Their plane had barely landed in Detroit on July 1, when an enthusiastic David Hills said, "We're just getting started!" David Hills will be leading the team again next year. The trip is scheduled for June 17-28, 2013. Applicants must be in the 9th-12th grades this school year. A firm deadline has not been set but it is hoped that the team will be in place by Dec. 15. Details about the project, costs, etc. will be available soon. The Rev. Ralph Denizard, exclaims, "God is good, all the times! All the times, God is good!" Here his youth group meets in space recently visited by the West Michigan Council on Youth Ministries. " Pastor Denizard offers them a blessing: "May you continue to experience God's goodness in all and every aspect of your lives."
