Rev. Birt Beers, 82, died on Pentecost Sunday, May 27, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Helen Beers.
Rev. Beers served in the following appointments in the West Michigan Conference: Mancelona/Alba 1956; Transferred to Southern California-Arizona Conf. 1957; Transferred from Southern California-Arizona Conf., Alden/Kewadin/Kewadin Indian Mission 1958; Albion (Assoc.) 1961; Quincy/Fisher Hill 1963; Otsego 1967; Breckenridge/Wheeler 1972; Breckenridge 1976; Montague 1977; Muskegon: Crestwood 1983; Stockbridge 1990; Harbor Springs/Alanson May 15, 1993; Retired 1995
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1, at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Dunes UMC in Grand Haven with visitation to be held at 1:00 p.m. – one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Lake Louise United Methodist Camp for youth scholarships. Donations may be sent directly to Lake Louise Camp at 11037 Thumb Lake Road, Boyne Falls, MI 49713.
Condolences may be sent care of the church or to the family home in Grand Haven, MI.
