John Wesley Association
“Each annual conference may organize a Fellowship of Local Pastors and Associate Members.”
-¶ 323 of The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church (2004)
In West Michigan Conference, this Fellowship is called “The John Wesley Association”
The Association:
- schedules three regular meetings of the membership per year for continuing education, exploration of issues facing the Church, and support in ministry.
- speaks to the Annual Conference on behalf of the membership, and speaks to the membership on issues confronting the Annual Conference.
- encourages and promotes study beyond the Course of Study.
- welcomes as members all Local Pastors, Associate Members, Student Local Pastors, Probationary Members, DSAs and persons who have completed Licensing School but are not appointed.
Membership is expressed by attendance at meetings. There are no dues.
