Higher Education & Campus Ministry
Offering opportunities in higher education and campus ministry to:
Proclaim the Gospel and offer hospitality to all
Deepen, enrich, and mature Christian faith through commitment to Jesus Christ
Serve and lead in the world, in, through, and beyond the church.
There is a long history of commitment to higher education and campus ministry in The United Methodist Church. In fact, Methodism's roots go back to the campus days of John and Charles Wesley, whose Holy Club members were nicknamed "Methodists" for their methodical discipleship. The Wesleys' belief in the importance of education (John Wesley believed ignorance was one of the greatest socials ills) and their commitment to faithful discipleship during the university years is carried on today in the education of lay and clergy leaders in the church and support for campus ministry and insitutions of higher education.
For those of you who support these ministries, we thank you! United Methodists throughout West Michigan share generously through their regular church offerings, which go in part to support higher education and campus ministry.
You can find out more about our ministries by clicking on the menu items under Higher Education and Campus Ministry in the left column of this page.
