The vision statement of The West Michigan Conference celebrates that we are "All connected in mission." Yes, together we are on a journey of hope, love and healing, along with United Methodists and others around the world. Working with others, we find we are able to make a greater difference than we could make alone. Christ still calls us to reach out beyond ourselves to neighbors up close and far away. And we respond with our dollars, with our time, and with our prayers. Through The United Methodist "connection" we are linked -- as individuals and as congregations -- in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed in more than 125 countries.
First Mile Giving...
Ministry Shares support a global network of activities, organizations and projects that transform the world. Gifts donated by churches in the West Michigan Conference support our staff, communications, and buildings. But much of what we give goes out beyond ourselves, changing lives next door and a world away. Ministry shares are the foundation of mission giving. Second Mile Giving...
"Advance Specials" allow us to direct our giving to the areas that we feel God is calling into our circle of care. The best thing about The Advance is that every dollar donated goes to the Advance Project That's a "good deal" when it comes to charitable giving. Extra Mile Giving...
Mission is not all about dollars. Mission is also about volunteering time and skill. Volunteers embody Christian love in action as they bring their diverse talents to mission programs, projects, and institutions, local outreach ministries, and emergency response and recovery work around the world.
