Youth Ministries

Youth Ministry in the West Michigan Conference takes place at several levels:
The Conference Council on Youth Ministries resources and coordinates youth ministry across West Michigan. Composed primarily of youth, the Council meets four times a year and administers the Youth Service Fund.
Youth ministry at the district level takes place through district youth councils, summer camps, and coordinated projects through district churches.
At the local church level youth ministry varies widely depending on the size of the church, the number of youth involved, and the leadership both youth and adult available at any given time.
We are here to help you engage in the most effective youth ministry possible. Here are some contacts and resources that may help you:
Naomi Garcia is the ministry consultant resourcing youth ministry at the Conference level.
Joy Mills is the Conference Youth Coordinator. You can contact her with questions about youth council involvement and activity and Youth Service Fund Projects.
‘The West Michigan YouthWorker Movement (formerly the Forum for Adults in Youth Ministry) meets regularly for support, fellowship and shared learning. It meets in retreat annually. The contact person is Sue Daniels.’
In the fall of 2012, the West Michigan Conference asked youth leaders in our Conference and around the country to participate in a survey to find out Conference structures and Local Church structures of youth ministry. To see the raw data, please click the links below to download the results.
